Ornithology Meetings: Continuing Education and Projects

About every two weeks, on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m., Ficedula hosts a series of online ornithology sessions, which are open only to association members and last about an hour.

Basic training, in-depth study, methods, identification, and much more.

February 3, 2026 – Introduction to the program. How to identify Ticino hawks in flight and how to look for them.

February 17, 2026 – Introduction to migration. The first species on the move.

March 10, 2026 – A Successful Project from Ticino in Africa, 2002–2015. Development Aid and Biodiversity.

March 24, 2026 – From South to North: April, the golden month for migration in Ticino.

April 14, 2026 – How to Identify Birds by Their Songs.

April 21, 2026 – The Impact of Lead in Hunting Ammunition on Large Birds of Prey.

May 5, 2026 – The Swifts of Italian-speaking Switzerland

May 19, 2026 – Conservation of the Snow Partridge in Ticino: A New Approach!

June 30, 2026 – The Anatomy of Bird Flight.
