The Common Gull is distinguished by its white plumage with gray wings and black tips. During the breeding season, its head turns dark, while in the winter months it takes on a white hue with a dark patch behind the eye. The species feeds primarily on fish, insects, and garbage, demonstrating great dietary adaptability. In winter, it is often seen in large flocks. It prefers aquatic environments such as lakes, rivers, and seashores. It nests in colonies on islands and marshy shores from March to July, laying 2–3 eggs in nests built from vegetation.
