In Italian-speaking Switzerland, it’s gecko season. In recent decades, the gecko has indeed shown a clear expansion of its range in Ticino, driven by rising temperatures and increasing urbanization. The species primarily colonizes buildings, walls, and populated areas, gradually expanding even to higher elevations.
