The Flycatcher is a small passerine bird with gray and brown plumage, darker streaks on its breast, and a long, slender tail. To catch its prey, it prefers to perch on an elevated spot from which it then dives to catch flying insects. Its song is soft and unobtrusive. The Flycatcher spends the winter in Africa. It prefers open habitats such as gardens, parks, and forest edges. It nests between May and July, building nests in cavities or on sheltered branches.
