
Description
The Blackbird is a medium-sized bird with glossy black plumage in males and dark brown plumage in females. Adults have a bright orange beak and a yellow eye ring. Its melodious song is heard especially in the morning and at sunset. It feeds mainly on insects, earthworms, and fruit. It inhabits a variety of environments, including different types of woodlands, gardens, and even urban parks. It nests between March and July, building cup-shaped nests out of twigs and mud. Blackbirds can lay up to three broods per season.
