The Egyptian Goose is a medium-sized duck with distinctive plumage, dominated by shades of brown and beige, with black accents around the eyes and on the breast. These birds are highly territorial, especially during the breeding season. Their diet is primarily herbivorous, consisting of grasses, seeds, and grains, but they may also feed on insects and small vertebrates. Their ideal habitat includes wetlands and the shores of lakes or rivers. During the breeding season, which begins in late winter, pairs build nests near the water.
